Introduction
FilmFlirt ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App").
Information We Collect
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
FilmFlirt stores the following information locally on your device:
- User Preferences: Your selected languages, genres, minimum rating, year range, and content type preferences (movies/series)
- Watchlist: Movies and TV series you have liked/swiped right on
- Discovery History: Movies you have seen in the app to avoid repetition
- Onboarding Status: Whether you have completed the initial setup
Important: All this data is stored locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults and Core Data. We do not have access to this information, and it is never transmitted to our servers or third parties.
Information We Do NOT Collect
FilmFlirt does NOT collect:
- Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
- Location data
- Device identifiers (except as described below for advertising)
- Usage analytics or app performance data
- Any information that can personally identify you
Third-Party Services
The Movie Database (TMDb)
FilmFlirt uses The Movie Database (TMDb) API to fetch movie and TV series information. When you use the app:
- Your device makes API requests to TMDb servers
- These requests include your filter preferences (languages, genres, etc.) but do not include any personal information
- TMDb may log these API requests according to their privacy policy
- We do not share any personal data with TMDb

Google AdMob
FilmFlirt uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and use information about your device and app usage to provide personalized ads. This may include:
- Device identifiers (such as advertising ID)
- IP address
- App usage data
- Demographic information (age, gender, interests) inferred from your device and app usage
This information is collected by Google AdMob, not by FilmFlirt. We do not have access to this data.
You can opt out of personalized ads by adjusting your device's advertising settings:
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → Turn off "Personalized Ads"

Data Security
Since all your data is stored locally on your device:
- Your data is protected by iOS security features
- We do not transmit your data over the internet (except API requests to TMDb for movie data)
- Your watchlist and preferences remain private and secure
Note: If you delete the FilmFlirt app, all locally stored data (watchlist, preferences, history) will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
Children's Privacy
FilmFlirt is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
Your Rights
Since your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control:
- Access: All your data is accessible within the app (watchlist, settings)
- Delete: You can delete your watchlist, reset preferences, or delete the app to remove all data
- Modify: You can change your preferences at any time in Settings
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
